So how does the Hesalite Crystal on the Speedy Pro 3569.31.00 compare to the Sapphire Crystal? How does it hold up against scratches? Anyone regret have the Hesalite?

Basically the difference between the two is that: Hesalite is almost unbreakable ( and when it breaks its doesn't shatter, just breaks like plastic would), but it scratches fairly easy, the good thing is , it is easily polished out with some brasso or other abrasive. Sapphire is almost impossible to scratch, but shatters ( I have never seen this happen personally), but once Sapphire gets a scratch on it thats the end for it, you have to replace it. So both have pros and cons, personally I think for most watches Sapphire is optimal, unless its a speedy pro, then I like the hesalite Hope this helps Adam

I agree with Adam, sapphire is prefered for most daily use,but on the speedy hesalite seems so right.

Thanks a lot ;D
And more seriousely, I would not be too affraid to get a hesalite crystal. It is first of all looking good on a vintage/classic, and it is very strong. They are quite easily pollished, and if needed, a new one is only $25 But there is nothing wrong in a sapphire either. Depends on the watch, and your taste, but on a speedy, the hesalite is THE choice for me

Mltaylor, i cannot answer how it compares on the Speedy pro. But i do own a Hesalite crystal watch..
I have a lot regrets about owning it, i wear my watches... and i don't care about scratches on the case or bracelet, but i do care a lot about scratches on the most important part of the watch, the dial. (I am not a person who will polish the crystal)
I also am not that "history bounded, if a watch has been into space with hesalite or not, my next watch will be the Speedmaster Pro Sapphire front/ with sapphire caseback"because i like the look and the sapphire
(I do like the history ofcourse, but the sapphire is more important to me)
The sapphire Speedy will hold a scratchless look a whole lifetime, no need to be stressed about scratches or polishing.

Is the sapphire crystal on the Speedy "domed" like the Hesalite?
