So this is a new watch made to look old and haggard? EDIT: Just went to their website and saw that yes, these are new watches made to look old - no thanks. Heck, I can't even get behind people using LOS to artfically age their bronze watches. The use of vintage color lume (sparingly) is about as far as I can go down this road.

That’s weird and I sort of like it.

To compare, the 39mm Kempten without the treatment is about $1k less. Same ETA engine. Sand blasted case whereas the Erbstuck has the vintage used look without blasting it appears. I must say that I do like the look of the Erbstuck and it gives me that rugged feel. Interesting take on the Flieger.

While I really do love the look of these Erbstuck LACO models - have known about them for a couple of years, and thought about ordering one - I just don’t think that level of artificial wear and patina would work for me in the end. We do have a LACO AD here in Vancouver now, but I have yet to see an Erbstuck in real life, and that is the least it would take to get my interest any more.
I have to be honest here: Since getting my Omega FOIS a couple months ago, I have even started to regard my 3 Omega Trilogy models in a slightly different light. Matter of fact, I haven’t even had one on my wrist since the FOIS arrived. And it has only to do with the faux patina. Now, I’m not saying that I still don’t really like all three - Railmaster, Seamaster 300 and Speedmaster - but my level of appreciation has truly been altered slightly, as beautifully crafted as they are. And, for me, that says a lot!
So, I can’t see myself getting into a totally artificially aged Erbstuck, as much as I do like how they look, and appreciate the time and techniques of the aging.
Cheers, Carl

Don't like it on cars, guitars and now watches.

Legit points of view by all. I tend to think it's ok in that it is direct from the manufacturer. Not modded by anyone in the wild. I find that acceptable at this point, as I muse over it, and I agree with Carl, that it looks outstanding. I also agree with Baco that phony bronze patina induced by owners in the wild is vile.

I can’t explain it or justify it, but these white dial versions don’t bother me as much. I actually kind of like them. Still not a buyer, but these are nice looking. Maybe because I haven’t seen it done with white before.
