Not that I need any justification for acquiring a new watch, but in the past few months I have sold 7 of my collection, and at least 4 more to go. When I went into the JLC Boutique with a couple of friends, this is the last model I expected to see. Apparently it has become very popular since it was introduced last year. I always wanted a Reverso, and I had looked at the blue version of this model many times. The first time I looked at a Reverso, many years ago, I just did not find it a comfortable fit. The back was totally flat, and it just would not sit properly on my very protruding wrist bond. I found, however, that a couple of years ago, JLC changed the lugs at the back of the watch, making them angle slightly downwards. They curve at exactly the right point to be a perfect fit on my wrist, at least this model which is actually the large size in the Reverso model line. While the dial is still pretty small, the watch has a great wrist presence, although the actual lug-to-lug is only 47mm. The crown is an absolutely perfect size, easy to grip. It's a calibre 822/2, manually wound, with a power reserve of 38 hours, so needs to be wound basically every day. I love that it's a kind of oval shaped movement, or modified rectangle, so it's a perfect shape for the watch. I believe a smaller version of this movement is used in the Cartier Tank Louis watch. A surprisingly versatile watch, although I suppose it would be classified as a dress watch, I am personally comfortable wearing it with just about any outifit. Thanks for looking! Cheers, Carl

Love it!! Let’s see the other side. Congratulations, Carl! Thanks, Chip. Not much to see here: The blue version of this one, which came out in 2018, also available in a Duo. I am thinking about having this one engraved, although if I do it will definitely make it more difficult to flip!

I’ll give you 1000 for it then lol

That’s a stunning red color variant. I have not seen this before and it’s really striking! Huge congrats Carl. Thanks Roger. There was a blue dial/blue strap variant introduced in 2018. I looked at it many times, and just was not in position to get it, neither is a blue dial normally my choice. When this was announced in 2019, I heaved a sigh of relief that I never did get the blue dial. I also realized that it would likely be very scarce, as it seemed to be instantly popular and a Boutique Only model. I always loved the Reverso look, but it was never really a priority for me. When I walked into the Boutique with a good friend of mine and his wife, I was quite startled to find they actually had one, and loved it immediately. Contrary to what is normally the opposite as far as watch photos go, I find most of the photos I see ( not just mine ) actually are very much like the watch in real life. Unlike some watch dials, which don't look always as good in every lighting condition, this one just looks brilliant in all conditions. Light or dark, or in between, the red hue is absolutely gorgeous. I feel that I really lucked out with this one! Cheers, Carl

Congrats Carl! We can be reverso pals now. I wish I could take some shots as nice as these for it though. Enjoy it!
