Finally accomplished - well, almost. I am not down to 5 watches. I fully intend these to be keepers. And also give them lots of wrist time: From left to right: IWC Big Pilot 43, Tutima 'Flieger Friday' (Flieger 1941), Breitling Premier B09 Pistachio, JLC Tribute to 1931, Orion Hellcat I am not quite finished, though. A good friend has 5 of my watches for sale on his eBay. And I have my Breitling Premier Norton on hold pending possible sale to a friend. And I am still considering one possibility for a 6th. Either a dive watch or possibly later in the year. Apparently Hanhart is coming out with a smaller (less than 40mm) Flieger, some kind of revival model I believe. Much like Tutima did with the 'Flieger Friday'. So I doubt that I will do anything until that one is announced. The other possibility is another IWC, an Aquatimer. Basic time and date model. Can't say there is any watch that is gone that I really miss. And it looks like the Breitling Premier is my most favored one at the moment, although the IWC Big Pilot is getting most wrist time.

Great looking and diverse collection and yeah, I think a diver and/or a GMT in the mix to round it out. Maybe a 5 digit ND Sub or a Sinn U50 on rubber for the river or a Tudor GMT depending on budget after the others sell.

Great collection, carl ! So many options with regards to what could potentially be added. The most important aspect is that you're having fun! Your watch purchasing journey has been so much fun to follow, filled with surprises. I know how hard it is to figure out the next steps, especially with several great watches already there. Either way it seems as if you're more settled with some of the choices with regards to time held or future plans. Your friend has been a huge part of this watch journey too, buying a lot got their personal collection and assisting with sales, that's awesome!

Thanks Baco Noir and some good suggestions. For once, I am really going to take my time. Who knows, maybe I won't get another one. I had quite a few flippin' good years and no regrets. But as we all know, flipping is expensive. Time to settle down now, enjoy what I have, and save some money. I still love to go out for a nice dinner once or twice a week, so can't do everything. Not a complaint, just an adjustment. All good!

I hope you’ve kept a list and pictures and will one day put together a chronological thread of what’s come and gone.

Thanks Baco Noir for pointing out the article. A good read and very valid description of the BP43. Even at 43mm, it still has great wrist presence and it feels to me as though I am wearing a big watch. Basically little or no bezel, it is all dial. Even if IWC had made a no date/no power reserve version of the 46.2mm BP, I am sure I would have gone for it. Although with my OCD about big watches with smaller movements, it would have to have had a solid case back!

My Breitling Blackbird Avenger is 48mm but with the curved lugs and Ti it does not feel heavy or oversized at all.
