I'm assuming it was very likely exposed to something that expedited the tarnishing process on the Sterling Silver.
Time will tell, but I guess it's like the unique patina a Bronze watch develops over time.
Albeit cool, I wasn't sure how sold I was on a 925 Silver watch given past experience with the material on jewellery.

Looks good even if the patina was sped up. Love that crown.

I dig it. I haven’t seen one patina that much before so like they mention in to the beginning, I wonder if the patina was forced artificially?

priamo - It's a great looking watch, indeed. Certain models or scenarios make them get better with age. I can imagine how it'll look once the aluminum insert starts to fade a bit, such vintage appeal. Baco Noir - I'm thinking so, as it's a fair new release. If it had daily exposure to the elements this might be more natural than I thought. Not sure what they could've soaked it in of applied to it fkrnthis to be expedited as it was. For the Bronze watches, albeit a different metal, how long do those take typically the o begin forming a patina? This all has me curious now.

It’s hard to put a time on patina for these alloys because Tudor has added metals to each alloy to intentionally slow down the patina process and to have them patina more evenly. The second factor is frequency of wear - one watch only or in rotation in a larger collection. And then there is also the environmental conditions - low/high humidity, and low/high outside temp, as I am sure both Dallas and Seattle have higher humidities than Denver, but the lower temp in Seattle will mean less sweat.

Excellent points, Baco Noir . It'll be fun to browse pre-owned listings over time to see the results of the many factors.

Well that was interesting. If as the narrator stated it is a 2021 watch then the tarnishing probably has been sped up. I agree with Roger lthe location of the watch will effect the rate of tarnishing but that just looks too uniformed to be natural.

Here's a link to a reddit post titled "Black Bay 58 925 - Patina Comparison after 3 months}. You can click on the photos there to zoom in.

priamo Thanks for sharing. I really like these watches still. For Tudor I wonder how hard it is to obtain spare parts. Chances are, since it's through Rolex at the same building, they might only swap parts at a service and not sell some like Swatch / Omega. If I was to get one of those I would want an insert to keep on the side. With 70s dive watches in my collection that are near impossible to find parts for, it's just a random thought of long-term ownership for some aluminum bezel watches.
