I've given up or lost interest in 6-digit reference models other than the one I own. However, as someone who loves dive watches, water sports, and the history of the former, it's impossible to not appreciate this piece. Anyone reading this is well aware of that historically significant period between well known brands. This yielded some of the most iconic dive watches of all time. Many would argue that the Sea-Dweller won, and I would agree in many ways. Regardless, the only true winners were the consumers who got to own, use, and enjoy these remarkable engineering feats. All watches tied to this have become more difficult to find, at least the vintage ones. My Neo-Vintage piece of choice would be the 16600, which to me represents all the best things of this category. These images are from an eBay listing I'm watching Although they're still somewhat within reasonable reach for the time being, I'm not loving it enough to sell off any watches to cover most of this. Either way it's fun to look at!

Wow that SD COMEX I would love to have in my collection. What an awesome watch and a great conversation watch.

Same here! If I was to ever pay big money for something at auction, the Comex Sea-Dweller would very likely be one of those.
I've seen one or two on Chrono24, the one I remember most was being sold by a dealer in Italy. Typically when these super cool pieces come up it asks you to "Please contact" in the price field.

For me, my ultimate Rolex is the DRSD. I am not comfortable buying vintage because of all the franken watches these days.

Baco Noir That's a tough one to dispute, an absolute legend of a watch! Fair point as well, as motives are now higher than ever for some "experts" to mislead buyers in that sense. It would be so nice to at least see some of those in a vintage dealer's shop or watch museum.
