I just saw this and I'm not at all surprised. A part of me had always wanted one (and considered it), but never went ahead yet. I've always been more into the dive watches and Chronograph pieces better suited for use in or around water. However, the history of the Speedmaster is difficult to ignore. Based on what they're going for now I'll likely continue to appreciate them from afar, but appreciate them, nonetheless. Hard to beat a Speedmaster. They are iconic as the Submariner.

geesh, 4 or 5 yrs ago I recall those Speedies went for around $3k new.
