Movement accuracy is just one thing I love about Rolex. If anyone has any doubts about the 3030 movement, stop doubting. My Explorer seems to have gained one second in the past week. Now it's +3. I think I can live with a gain of 1 second per week in a mechanical watch!

That's amazing Bruce! I guess it's somewhat hit or miss given the few recent Rolex tales of running +10/day or more out of the box. Both of mine are running +3/day. My Omegas are doing a little better, but one thing I've noticed with Rolex is that it doesn't matter what I do to the watch, it still runs a steady +3. My Omegas can vary depending on how I leave them overnight.

I second Sam's findings. Rolex movements seem to preform at a steady rate reguardless of position.

We have to remember that Rolex, just like any other brand, certifies the movements and not the movement in the watch. So, just like any other brand, it's hit n miss as to how it runs out of the box.
What I love about Rolex movements is that they are so easy to regulate, not only within COSC, but to be almost spot on! My Explorer II was fast, outside of COSC, out of the box, but after regulation, it would run within a couple of seconds for weeks on end!
I just feel lucky that I got a good one that didn't need to be regulated. My 16610 was like that. I bought it used, as a K series, but to my knowledge it had never been regulated. It would never vary more than a couple of seconds for weeks!
