Tried to correct some weird looking red reflections around the chapter ring and on the lugs but the it changed the whole color cast. Is there a way to subtract color from specific areas and not the whole image in PS elements?

I can't see the red!
Use the lasso tool to define the area that needs to be corrected. Go to image, adjustment, hue saturation, use the color picker to select the color you want to get rid of. Move second slider to the left until gone.

Thanks I'll give that a try, you can't see red cause I sucked most of it out of the whole image.

another way to do it is to do what you just did then go over everything BUT the red area with the history brush tool. Personally, I like the history brush better but it is sooo much more work.... U have a lot more control though. u can change the opacity... if it affects highlights... shadows... etc
