....the PAM 106D. I figure, who knows how long I will have this one so I might as well post it while I've got it. So I traded the JLC Master 8 Days for a PAM 106D (and a little cash) last week. I've really never been a PAM Sub guy, but figured I'd give it a try. I like it more than I thought I would. The all brushed titanium finish is a nice change from the usual all polished Panerai cases. I wore it on the bracelet for a couple of days, but grew tired of it quickly. While the bracelet is very nice, it just made the watch too heavy for me. Plus....half the beauty of Panerai is in the straps, right?!?! ;D The 106 was made for 3 series D-F. 500 per series, so only 1500 total. While it's not nearly as collectible as other models, it's nice knowing there aren't 250,000 watches out there just like this one. Tritium dial/hands as well! I'll most likely end up moving it for a PAM 000 or something similar. But for now, I'm going to wear it and see if we "bond". The seller included a strap he made for me....it's the brown one below. The black one is a Simona Vintage Black.

Big congrats Sam... I am not a Pam guy myself, but I ''investgated'' the brand a while ago and I must admit that they do have some interesting models. This one looks real cool, I hope you will enjoy it Sam..

Thanks Gerard. I've only had the 106 for a week & I think it's already had more wrist time than the JLC did in a year. I am not a Pam guy myself... Ahhhh yes....but you didn't use to be a Rolex guy either. In time....in time! ;D

Congrats Sam, thats a beauty. Love the colour of the dial too! I never thought much of the Subs till I tried on a 24. It was GREAT, wears a bit smaller than a regular Luminor case I thought. Just a nice casual looking watch. Don't blame you on the logo tho, they are very very cool GJ didnt like Rolex, no way!!!! I dont believe that, he has 1 of nearly every model now

Late to the party.... congrats Sam. Personally the Subs from OP do nothing for me, but hey, if it smiles at you, that's all that matters. Now... if you found the bracelet too heavy for you and it's titanium, imagine how heavy a SS one would feel?

Thanks all Found a rubber OEM strap on the sales corner....should be here next week. Personally the Subs from OP do nothing for me, but hey, if it smiles at you, that's all that matters. I thought the same thing. That's the interesting thing about trades vs selling and buying. Sometimes you end up with something you wouldn't otherwise just run out and buy. This one is actually starting to really grow on me. Think I may just hang on to it and pick up a zero later this year. At least they can share straps. ;D @ Amanda.....yes, it does seem to wear smaller than other luminors. I think it's the all satin finish & the rotating bezel. It actually doesn't look that large. The 210 wears larger IMO. My 111 I used to have felt quite large on the wrist. I also have to say it's a nice change to have an auto PAM....with a date too. I'm so used to having to wind them. It has the cool 7750 rotor wobble too.

Good stuff Sam. I got my OEM rubber yesterday and its very comfortable. Was pretty hard to fit to the deployant tho, the end that passes thru the buckle bit is quite thick. Took 10mins to fit it. So the rubber will be staying on it for some time!

Did you get the rubber strap that's meant for deployant? It's thinner on the tail end that the rubber strap for tang. Good stuff Sam. I got my OEM rubber yesterday and its very comfortable. Was pretty hard to fit to the deployant tho, the end that passes thru the buckle bit is quite thick. Took 10mins to fit it. So the rubber will be staying on it for some time!

Now... if you found the bracelet too heavy for you and it's titanium, imagine how heavy a SS one would feel? The bracelet is half Ti & half SS...
