Ok, is Omega winning me over again? When this watch came out I tried it on in the AD and it seemed a bit large which was a let down because as far as Omega's go this would be the piece to own. Keeping in mind I had huge watches before with no issues as you adjust to it and I feel any man can pull off the bigger watch look like with G-Shocks. Not to mention seeing that sit on the AD's watch pad with my Explorer II beside it made it seem like the Ploprof. Speedmasters are amazing with a rich history but I need something , like an Oyster that is ideal to use in water worry free because Swimming and water sports is a big part of my life. Anyway, I checked around eBay and noticed it sells for MUCH less than the MSRP which has me wanting to do further investigation locally or through known sellers. Here it is, the "SEAMASTER PLANET OCEAN 600 M OMEGA CO-AXIAL CHRONOGRAPH 45.5 MM" i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp273/monochorme/monochrome/omega/omega-seamaster-poc-wrist1.jpg/IMG]Images from www.monochrome.nl/omega-seamaster-planet-ocean-chrono-reviewed/Ceramic bezel, Chronograph function, a nice lackered / glossy dial which I love, chronograph pushers that can be used under water and do not need to be screwed out or any of that stuff, a screw bracelet (I hated my Omega's with pins), sapphire caseback, in house Omega movement. I can go on and on. Anyway, at $6,300.00 USD Brand New In the Box I'm thinking for a used piece it may be possible to pick one up for $5,000.00 or so. To me, for that price it is A LOT of watch for the money and not in a way where it would be a sacrifice. www.ebay.ca/itm/UNWORN-PLANET-OCEAN-600M-CO-AXIAL-CHRONOGRAPH-45-5mm-watch-ref-23230465101001-/300944062103?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item4611a9f697&_uhb=1As I'm sure most of you already know I had there watches before but the designs or lack of things I wanted made them eventually not satisfy my desires / needs. [img src=" imageshack.us/a/img825/9422/r2jd.jpg" style="max-width:100%;"] None of the other Omega watches in the lineup spark an interest, especially after having these pieces for 2 years (the regular Seamaster) and 1 year (Planet Ocean) of daily use. What are your thoughts? This Rolex bug has me pretty badly but when I compare the price of a GMT Master II 116710 LN either new or used to what this piece apparently can be had for it has me thinking... It seems like a good partner for my Explorer II and the ultimate all around piece for me.

So would I! It has everything I want in a watch and it's closer within reach at that price! It would make for good brand and style variety not to mention be fun to use that chronograph and admire the movement through the caseback.

I am about a year away from another watch, unless I sell something.
The problem is that I a bit of a hoarder and I have a hard time letting other watches go.

You and I both, Chip! The three watches in the picture above were different. I had all of them at the same time yet there was no desire to rotate or even wear them ever again. They were nothing "highly collectible" or any of that jazz so I ended up parting with them which was the best plan ever. It expedited the Rolex which got me in on one at a good price at the time and helped me experience other hobbies like owning my car etc. It was the Omega passion that got me here and kept my money secure for the most part for so many years vs other interests. I plan to keep what I currently have though and even if I buy another Rolex chances are it would be the last, financially then I would keep those two and move to other brands.
The waves on the Seamaster's dial got on my nerves after a while as the look of it was not always flattering to the watch depending on the lighting. The Planet Ocean's matte dial was nice but again, the glossy ones appeal more to me hints why Rolex is such a big hit with me.
I always wanted an Omega Chronograph even before I bought those but nothing did it for me. When this watch was announced I was SO excited but the MSRP and rarity on the for sale forums put me off. After a few years they seem to be popping up though! It's crazy because if I had to make the choice right now I would SO get this. Every other brand has much larger watches and the DeepSea and Yacht-Master II seem to be following the trend. The Original Seamaster 300 that the Planet Ocean is styled after was also large for it's era it would seem and is very nice.

It's a beautiful watch, but are you sure it has a glossy dial? I was under the impression it was a matte dial like the non-chrono version.
You should also check out the version with the orange 12 Arabic. It's has a bit of splash that looks really cool. Unlike my watch which has the orange 6,9,12, the chrono version is more subtle.

Yeah, you know after looking at the pictures closely again now that it's darker out I see what you mean. The one I saw in the store was glossy so it seemed and the press release photo's also seemed this way to me at the time. Here are some more pictures that were found on Google: Now that's certainly strange. Here it clearly looks like a matte dial But in this Omega picture from the press release and the website it has the appearance of a gloss dial a bit Either way it's a lovely piece though! For the long run I'm not sure how the matte dial would go over with me but the way it looked in person from what I can recall it seemed different to the planet ocean I wore for some reason, maybe because of the bezel too

rw16610 I'm sure it won't be long before someone ( probably king780 ) buys one then flips it a couple of days later. :itch: :itch: :itch: :itch: The non-chrono is on my list for sure.

Maybe we need to convince him to get this one instead Here are some close ups of mine. It's difficult to tell, but the dial is a beautiful matte that makes the indices and hands pop off it. Nice pictures, thanks for posting them. The fact that it is so hard to tell compared to the Planet Ocean I had still makes it desirable even though it's not glossy. The bezel adds a nice glossy touch and like you say the hands etc standing out. I need to go back to an Omwega AD and take a look. The problem is the ones closest to me never had this piece when I went, so I'll have to go downtown sometime to check them out.

The non-chrono is on my list for sure. Ranuka, didn't you just flip this movement in your Speedmaster The speedy was 44.25mm with 9300. Yup I did. That was perfect for the Speedmaster. The PO with 9300 is just not the same for me. Just not special. For me the PO watches needs to be non-chrono. Even going back to 2600 and now with 8500.

I'm yet to own any of those in-house movements but would LOVE to. I agree with you on the regular Planet Ocean having a more desirable look but with my current watch and likely a second Rolex to follow something like this Chronograph piece would be ideal to give me the total opposite in terms of variety. Omega is amazing because you can get several functions out of a watch with them.
