Here's a watch you defnitely won't see everyday!

I got this Chinese chronograph last month. Someone over on PMWF was ordering a couple directly from the manufacturer in China (Tianjin Watch Group) and I asked him to add one more to his order for me. This is the same company that makes the Alpha watches. The movement in this two-register chronograph is an exact copy of the classic Venus 175 column wheel chronograph movement, which was used by Breitling (among others) in the 50s. However, the Chinese have upped the jewel count from 17 to 19. Maurice Lacroix also used some NOS Venus 175 movements in a limited edition chronograph they produced a couple of years ago. Price: About $30,000US.

Overall quality is pretty good. The strap wasn't, however, and I replaced it with this nice chocolate cowhide strap. Keeps excllent time: about +5 sec/day. Price: About $120US.

Pretty sharp! Nice looking movement, too....much better looking than the Alpha movement.
