:oLooks like my Lange1 will be going in for a service call as it's running extremely slow all of a sudden. Even though I don't wear it daily, the L1 is always wound and really dead on at about +.2 seconds fast/day. I wore the watch once last week and it seemed to be right on time, but this morning I noticed it two minutes slow. I reset the watch in the office, just thinking hmmm..... I check the time a couple hours later and notice it's off by 30 seconds. Heyyyy...., must be my eyes. Probably didn't hack the watch right. Reset, check a couple hours later.....WTF, it's 25 seconds slow. I'll check tomorrow morning, just to torture myself, then send this puppy in for a service. Luckily, there's a US service center, so it won't have to wing its way to Germany. The only thing with wings will be the dollar bills flying out of my bank account!

Isn't that watch fairly new? That would drive me absolutely NUTS. I could live with as much as 15 seconds a day... but a few minutes would drive me insane. I would probably lose sleep at night lol. Hope not too many bills will be flying out of your account buddy!

Isn't that watch fairly new? I've had the watch nearly four years and according to the service booklet it's due for service between 3-5 years. I'm going to check against the computer clock in my office tomorrow. If it's even more off, it's going in. If it's off at the same rate as this afternoon, then I'll match it up versus the atomic clock setting at home. Is that enough OCD??

Man, that sucks. That'll probably cost you 2 Omegas (or 1 Rolex) to fix it. ;D

One minute and six seconds behind yesterday's 2:00 pm setting. Dang, this watch has gotta go for service. I have owned my Rolex for nearly 6 years and it's still spot on. Hmmmm, rock solid Rolex and a finicky German watch. I guess that's why people collect watches, so as to always have an accurate one to wear.

I assume the watch just needs to be cleaned and lubed, but you never know. I really baby this watch as it was a safe queen (albeit a wound safe queen) for nearly two years when I wore the Langematik perpetual on a daily basis. Oh well, time to pack and ship the clunker.

Update- Needs the full service along with a new setting lever and strap. All in $1180. Got's to pay if you wanna play. I signed off on the work and should have the watch back in 4-5 weeks. On another note, sold the Langematik Perpetual today. I wore the watch for 2.5 years and still received exactly what I paid for it. Not bad for a depreciating asset!

Outstanding news on the Langematik Marc! Sorry about the service cost on the L1, but if you figure probably $300 of that is in the strap, it's not quite as bad. New setting lever, eh? Any problems with setting the hands on this watch that would indicate an issue there? I find that a somewhat odd piece to need replacing if there weren't any symptoms. But then again I'm just a hack!

LOL. I "saved" $135 by doing the full service. Separately, the strap was $300. As far as the setting lever goes, I didn't notice any problems. Interestingly, I've kept this watch wound over the nearly four years I've owned it. I'd only let it run down if I went on a long vacation. I'm not sure what to do this time around. I mean, if it only is accurate for 4 years, then I might as well only wind when used so as to extend time between service intervals. I don't think I'm going to do this again any time soon. I can get a little jaded here, as my Rolex (6 yo this Jan.) keeps cranking out execellent time without a hitch. It's always wound and used hard. As far as the Langematik goes; I listed it Monday and had funds wired today. Not bad at all!

The strap was worn out? Seriously? No... SERIOUSLY? WTF? Marc, I know you don't wear that one daily, and have had it for what, two or three years, but come on... a top quality gator strap needing replacement already? Got any pix? I kinda know a thing or two about straps... just think they're screwing you for extra $$$.

John, the strap was worn out as the croc leather was splitting on the outside on one of the scales. I was ready to order a new one anyway as I felt the condition of the strap could actually lead to having the watch fall off the wrist. I don't blame the strap or the manufacturer as I can get a bit sweaty during work hours (hint--think stock market stress). I don't have a photo as the watch and strap are now at the Lange repair center.

I've flipped straps a lot, so the longest I've had a strap is 10 months of regular rotation and still in great shape. Hmmm
