So how long did the strap last?
I've flipped straps a lot, so the longest I've had a strap is 10 months of regular rotation and still in great shape.
Hmmm
Well, I wore the watch daily for about 2 years, then probably once a week for the following year and one half. I'd say for me at least, it's a standard rate of wear. I can't get too much out of a skinny croc strap. Hmmmm, maybe I'd be better off with a hunk of cow pannie strap. BTW, I was at a Pannie AD a couple days of ago and the dealer was cleaned out. He was down to 3 watches and I know he had at least a dozen there this June. To tell you the truth, the three left were the ugly ones. Panerai is still a hot brand, no doubt.

Yeah some guy on Panereh made a comment about the Toronto Film Festival that he was seeing Pannies all over the festival among 'beautiful people and wannabes' and he wondered about their hotness i.e. fad. But, you either love them or hate them. Not too many people I know will drop thousands on a fad item. But then again, I'm a pauper by comparison.

Thread revival time. ;D I just got the Lange1 back form the US authorised service center in NYC. What can I say? The watch came back Minty Fresh!! I cannot believe how well done the case was polished! After pulling out the 10X loupe, I can't find any scratches, dust or fingerprints anywhere on the dial, hands, or german silver plates. Mmmmmm, it winds smooth, too! I'm going to check its accuracy and rate over the next few days as before I shipped the watch for service it ran about .2/seconds a day fast. Hopefully, it will be the same. I paid for a new Lange strap, too. Boy, it has that bridle leather sound when fresh out of the box. I like that and wish JLC had spec'd a strap of similiar quality for the Master series. Whenever, the JLC band dies, I may just go after market for a nicer strap. Anyway, I'm glad the Lange1 is home

I'll try and take some photos soon, but as the Red Sox are in the World Series, it might just be a few days before I can find the time.

OK, I had some spare time this afternoon so here goes. Macro wrist shot Side view macro Side by side photo with its close sibling the GO Pilot's watch I am very impressed with the work by Alkis, the only US certified Lange repair person. I think he can repair all the major models with the exception of the perpetual. The perp. needs a spa treatment in Germany if it goes kerplop.
