I'm a new poster to the site and some of you have seen posts of a few of my vintage Rolex watches. Thanks again for the kind feedback. I'm interested in selling most of these watches (ca. 1950s, 1960s, 1970s) all in excellent running condition, to provide funds for other Rolex watches. I can provide references from highly reputable U.S. watch dealers with whom I've bought, sold, and traded watches. I've not sold on the internet before but have bought many times on Ebay using my verified PayPal account. ???I'd appreciate any advice on the most successful and safest way to sell my watches on this site or other sites. For example: Do most sellers provide an inspection privilege of, say 3 days? Do most buyers feel comfortable about paying for a watch in full, in advance, from a buyer they do not personally know? Do many sellers/buyers conduct transactions using PayPal? (I've noticed that often sellers require only bank wires or postal money orders.) Thanks in advance! Bob D

Hi Bob, i have bought and sold many vintage omegas, and i guess i can give you some advice, although others on this forum can also help.
I have bought most of my vintages from other sellers whom i do not always know but who have been around on watch fora for a while. It is really importnat to buy the seller first and foremost.. someone who is a regular forumer is more likely to be honest. I would say it may be an idea to post a hile on various watch fora like here and timezone so that people get to know you and are more confident in dealing with you.
In terms of selling strategy.. there are 2 options in my mind, either ebay or timezone. I dont know what ebay is like for rolexes but certainly i have sold many vintage omegas there with absolutely no problems. I have also found that i get more $$$ on ebay hat watch fora.. recently i was trying to sell an omega connie for £400 uk pounds on watch fora and no one was buying.. but watch sold for £550 on ebay a week later!!
Timezone is a good place to sell. I have never heard of / bought a watch with a 3 day inspection so i do not consider this the norm. Obvioulsy as an 'outsider' to thes ewatch fora you may need more refernces to sel watches.. but that should be no problem if you have them. Most buyers will prefer to buy with paypal, as they have more recourse if deal goes wrong. Unfortunately rolexes tend to attract lowlife.. so if a deal seems a bit off.. walk away.. thankfully these lowlives arent really intersted in the old omegas i buy / \sell from my collection. Hope this helps mamas
