I had a little bonus money left over and as a watch obsessed guy, have been looking for something thinner to wear on a strap with a suit. Had a couple of deals in the works over the last few weeks but the spidey senses made me drop one (found photos were from an old ad and the guy was pushing to close quickly) and the other just wasn't quite dressy enough. Finally found a nice one yesterday and concluded the deal today, but the guy's on travel and can't ship until Friday, so on Monday look for an update here! My hints are: - Strap
- <10mm thick
- 40mm diameter
- ETA movement
- Well respected brand
That's it for now!

Congratulations Roger. My guess is an Oris Artelier.

Omega DeVille with a 2892 base. That was in the running, and a strong contender, but no. I went with a brand I don't own instead.

IWC Portuguese Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using Proboards Saw one in the wild (Starbucks) earlier. Dude was wearing a t-shirt and jeans and the watch fits very well with the attire. Cool looking watch. Hard to guess what Roger is up to though.

erwin - Yeah, you are right! It is hard to figure out what I'm up to. Heck, even I didn't know exactly what I was looking for! Honestly, on this one, I left myself wide open to options and looked at a lot of brands I was totally unfamiliar with because all I wanted was a more formal "dress watch that'd go well with a suit". I wanted something subdued, but classy and on a strap. I also wanted a watch thin enough to tuck under the shirt / suit coat sleeve. I have a conference coming up at the beginning of March that I've been going to for almost 15 years and I am a session co-chair for a speakers panel. I figured the AP could work for most of the conference except on the day I am up in the front of the room at the main table introducing speakers under the lights. I thought it might get too flashy up there. Searching the fora, I kept coming back to this one watch that was FS then when I finally looked up the specs it hit me that it really met all the criteria I was searching for and at a great price too. The pictures weren't the greatest (marginal camera phone shots) and he had no FB on any of the watch forums, but he did have great FB on an AR-15 forum and I was able to trace back the purchase of the watch to a seller with good FB. On top of that, I negotiated to pay with Paypal and used a credit card for added buyer protection. I guess I'll see on Monday if this was a good deal or not!

But are you talking loudspeakers or people who make a speech ?
