I'm considering my next purchase. I'm not looking to buy something in the next week, but set my sights for something nice in the next 6-12 months. My top two are in this order, first the AP 15400 and second the Rolex 116610. I'd really like to have the AP (I tried to buy one from an AP 1 month ago) but at the same time I could have a 116610 and another nice piece for the same price. AP or Rolex +1 (like a PAM, Zenith or something like a second-hand Speake-Marin)

If I could spend your money, I'd go with the AP.
Hey, does anyone know if Peter carries AP's?

I love the Sub but given the choice it would be haute horology all the way for me! AP gets my vote!

Make that another vote for the AP! Watches are great to have in large quantities but once you get something like the 15400 it can change all of this. You have a nice collection of watches already and this seems to be the next step naturally.

Try the 15300, I think it fits better.

I have a passion for Rolex watches but lately the offerings from other companies have me seriously questioning this. For some reason the sapphire back wants to make it's way in my collection (never had a watch with one before). Hard to pass this sort of thing up:

I have the 15400 after a long search and trying on a lot of watches. I have a 7.25-7.5 inch wrist that's fairly flat and love the fit. APs detailing of the watches from base metal to movement is in a word outstanding! I looked at Omega, Blancpain, GO, VC, Breguet, IWC, Hublot, and more, and the AP wasn't the highest on my list going it and in fact was more of an option, but not really a serious contender. If you decide to buy one, contact takuya for a great deal on BNIB with full warranty.

I would be tempted to go for the AP.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'd really enjoy having the AP also. This is a pic from a month ago when I visited a dealer in Vegas. I made a reasonable offer but at the end of the day it wasn't enough to box her up.

I'm still craving the Rolex 116610LV Hulk. But 2014 is a tough year for my bankaccount. Small things for the house, and a daughter that attends a school (Sophomore), that 'funny' enough cost exactly the same as a Hulk But of course the watch is only luxury, the school is kind of mandatory. Even if I sold the Explorer II it would cost me over 2K. But If I can manage, you will see a switch to HULK this year So 116610 is my vote . . . but I'm biased
