Seamaster, Submariner, Dwelller, or just about anything else. In a paragraph or so; or more, if you like, try and explain the appeal of you favourite watch for you. Why do you consider this your favourite over other watches (makes, models). Do you have two that you couldn't live without? Is it the history, the build quality, the design and character, the look, the feel, particular aspects, was it received from a loved one? Most likely a combination. What is it that you really like about this watch that makes it your favourite? Best Rambler

- The Omega SMP 2254.50 > In my eyes the ultimate diving watch(very easy to read dial).., the sword hands and i am addicted to the lume it gives(all night long).. + it is a big watch very nice to wear. - Omega Speedmaster Pro. > the ultimate chronograph, i like it because of the looks and a little bit the history, and i love the saphire front/caseback on it. - Zenith El Primero Grande Chronomaster Open(front/back) (Black) > Ultimate dress watch, there is no more beauty in the world. I want to own one chronograph > Omega Speedmaster Pro. One diving watch > my Omega SMP 2254.50 And one GMT > Rolex/Omega.. Explorer II (Black), GMT-master (All Black) > ?

Always has been the Rolex GMT. The Master from a sentamental point of view, the Master II from a practical Point of view. To my mind Rolex's most versatile watch. A Master was the first Rolex I ever bought, and it served me well over the years. I like the multi-time zone capability, the quality, and of course it's a Rolex with all that brings to the table. If I were limited to one watch it would be the GMT,if it were two,add the Sub/date. [http://imageshack.us] [/URL]

It seems that all of the watches I own are my "favorites" for one reason or another. I think I am a bit different than most collectors in the sense that I can't sell watches, no matter how much I wear them. I have a couple that I have wanted to sell for a while but then when I put them on I just cant let go Just about every one has something special about it that really makes me like it. I have to say that for me a SMP is just about perfect, the functionality and overall asthetics make it my favorite watch.

I've owned a lot of watches, as you guys know, and I've had many of the "popular" ones. While I definately liked them, most are gone now. In choosing my one good watch, at least for quite awhile, I re-evaluated what was important for me and came up with the Rolex Explorer. I wanted to be very careful with my choice. My criteria was at least 100 m w/r, tough, reliable, classic, solid, and low key. The Rolex Explorer fit that description. So did the IWC Mark XV, almost, but at only 60m w/r, I passed. The Explorer is a go anywhere, do anything watch. It fits under a shirt sleeve and looks good with jeans and a t shirt. As my AD said, it passes the 10 ft test.....from 10 ft away, or even closer, you wouldn't know it was a Rolex if you didn't know Rolex. It has a rock solid reliable Rolex 3130 movement. A beautiful deep black dial and good lume. I like its simplicity and readability. Just time, and no date to mess up the dial symetry. I think it's the prettiest Rolex I've ever owned, and probably the prettiest watch I've ever owned. I'm even loving the 36mm size, which I never thought I'd say. I used to think, if the Explorer were only 38mm instead of 36mm......... I'm not thinking that now. I wouldn't change a thing, and obviously Rolex thinks so too as it's been essentially the same since 1953. That's timelessness and true class, IMO

Thanks bruces, made lots of sense. It is a great watch and a classic. And I like it too. (I like that '10 ft test' thing as well). Rambler

Good post, Rambler. What can I say? I love my TT YM for several reasons.....first off it's a TT and I do love TT watches. Secondly, it's fitted with the sturdy and dependable PLUS very accurate 3135 movement with the TRIPLOCK crown - all the better. Blue is my favourite colour and it contrasts superbly with the yellow gold of the bezel and links.....a pic I took today.

Basically the appeal of my 16610 is it's the watch that got me into Rolex. It's the one I always wanted. the first one I saw. That's it in a nutshell

Its not my favourite watch, but it is the one i wear most often.. the rolex seaweller. Love it because of the simplicity of the dial and its water resistance so i never take it off. My speedy or omega TT AT are my favoruites, but the AT is too dressy for every day, and thes speedy is not WR enough (30m) and doesnt have a date function which i need, so my SD fulfills all reuqirements as an everyday tool watch. mamas

For me if it's got a rotating bezel I love it! Not sure what my favorite watch is....probably the one I don't have that I'm currently over. Something about Omega & Rolex keep drawing me in.

I got the ExpII, black dial for many reasons. The black dial harks back to the original ExpII, when white wasn't an option. To me, a SS sports Rolex has to have a black dial. Because I'm often in a suit, a rotating bezel is a bit too sporty, so the semi-sloping ExpII bezel is a bit dressier than a sub or a gmt, but still solid. The fact that it doesn't rotate is also one less thing to break. The ExpII is waterproof to 100m, which is fine for me in my swimming pool, or if I'm recreational diving in the caribbean, mon. It's not a Rolex you see every day, but instantly recognizable as a Rolex because of the cyclops. It has the second time zone, which is great for travelling or at least keep track of when a crazy Kiwi might be coming online. In short, the black ExpII is the ultimate dual purpose watch. Dressy and sporty, and tough as nails.
