Not a brand that has really been one to catch my interest, but known for quality movements and watches. I have one decent chronograph, my Sinn, and I don't really consider myself a chronograph guy really, so this is a good one for me..... So surfing TZ I saw a thread on a G-P chrono, and man I think this thing is stunning! Here are some stolen pics.... Being a strap guy really, I think this shot shows the watch in it's best light....love the gold/blue hand combination - it really works well! Might have to see if I can pick one of these up!

You're right Al--the gold/blue really make the watch stand out.

The Giraud-Perregaux 1999 Chronograph is a stunning watch. I'm not a huge chrono fan, but I could make an exception for this one. One of my favorite features in iW magazine is a series call "5-4-8." This is where they have collectors tell what 5 watches they would buy if given $8k to spend. Interestingly, in the November issue the collector chose this exact P-G 1999 Chrono as his first pick. Apparently, it was produced in 1999 and only 1,200 were made. The article says that the secondary market price on this is about $3,500. Not bad for such a stunning watch with an in-house movement (G-P calibre 3370 w/ Dubois-Dépraz chrono module) and being essentially a limited edition. Neat. -Ben
