A few guys have Seiko 5s and can give some input there. Similarly, a number of us have Monsters too. I have a black one and an orange one: I'm very satisfied with them both and they both run about +8 seconds a day, give or take. Prices for a new Monster run $130 and up.

TR, they work well and are reliable. They can be tricked out with various hands, straps, maybe dials, etc. by some fellow quite notable in the Seiko circles, his name escapes me right now. Best of all they're inexpensive, you could get four for the price of an RSC job on your Submariner. . I have two, one quartz and one real and love 'em. Great looking and relaible beaters.

Good watch, is that Seiko Samurai? Mr. Al or Mr. atomic can you tell the series of Seiko Black Monster? Because I go to Seiko Ad, they didn't know about Black Monster. They ask me about series number but I really don't know. If you know please tell me, ok?

I have owned 3 Seiko 5's over the last few years. I've sold them all but all were quite good value for the money. This was my favourite of the bunch - sold it to my 19 year old nephew to pass on the mechanical watch bug. Spent some time regulating it and my nephew says it's spot on. ;D

The Seikos that I have are among the most accurate and robust watches that I own. They have given me zero problems and all were a fantastic value. Here are the models and the prices that I paid, Four great watches for around 600 USD. SCVS013 "Blue Spark" $260 SKX779K1 "Black Monster" $125 SNM011K " Black Samurai SS" $165 Unknown model # "Green Military" $50
