Does anyone own the Wristwatch Annual 2005 by Peter Braun? I've got the 2004 and I know the 2006 is out at the end of November/beginning December. I wondered if the 2005 is substantially different to the 2004. Thanks in advance Rambler

that sounds interesting, like the big boys comic annuals, whizzer and chips, beano, dandy! is it as it implies a comprehensive listing/photos of manufacturers current model range?

Yes, to some extent; but not comprehensive by any means. It's a really good book; but it really just gives you a flavour of the major styles and variations within each brand. For Omega for example, there are a few Speedmasters and some Seamasters etc. plus examples of other major lines and a few you might not have seen. But no, it's not comprehensive. It has a page or two's blurb about the brand in question, then some pictures (usually a couple of pages worth) with detail about the spec. of the watch (model ref. no.,movement type, number of jewels, functions, cost in dollars, case, bracelet types available and any other remaks). There are over 100 brands, mainly all swiss, some German etc. and the book (2004) is about 400 pages or so; retails at about £20 here in the UK. I use it for reference. Its got several articles at the back - sort of company profiles etc. There's one on F.P. Journe, one on Asprey, one on Steven Philips etc. Four pages of pictures and details about the most common ETA movements. And adverts at the beginning. Rambler

Rambler, I have the 2005, but not any other years. I imagine the format is basically the same. But I do LOVE the wistwatch annual, as far as Im concerned, its the best there is I have a few other annuals, but wristwatch is the best, its got more brands/models and its got the prices. I look at it at least twice a week I think they had it one of those TV networks for like 12 bucks, of course that probably doesnt help you in the UK. I am going to make sure and get them every year

Thanks Adam. I suppose to answer my own question; if it's an annual - it'll have to be quite different - models etc. every year, by definition. Think I'll pick up a copy of the 2005. Rambler
