I just got an email from Timeless announcing that they are now carrying Seiko Prospex divers. I'm excited about that, since Prospex wasn't available in US from an AD up until this point. To be honest I've never seen one in real life. They experienced a burst pipe last week and that flooded their store, forcing them to shut down for the week. As of yesterday they were still closed. Once they reopen I'll head on over to take a look! More temptations. timelessluxwatches.com/reviews/prospex-srp-automatics-and-sun-kinetic-reviewed

Talk about perfect timing, remember the Spring drive I showed you Chip, looks like they have that one!
Am loving the blue Auto as well as the auto on bracelet, great prices as well!

The SRP581 with the blue minute hand is pretty nice looking. Really like the blue anodized bezel too.

I just talked to them and it looks like the store will be closed for another week, maybe even more.
Hope it gets repaired quickly.

Does anyone know the difference between the normal Monster and the Prospex Monster?

Does anyone know the difference between the normal Monster and the Prospex Monster? I was thinking the main difference was the outer shroud that surrounds the case. I could be wrong though

Prospex stands for Professional Specifications, but from what I've seen they share the same movement as the new Monster, so I'm wondering if it's just lower production numbers and different designs.

Must admit, looking through their website I have completely fallen in love with this GS limited high accuracy quartz. I love that it comes with both bracelet and croco strap. I would go for the silver dial I think though.. On the bracelet i bet the black dial would look stunning. I know many don't like the ticking hand, I actually do, this one has taken my heart! www.timelessluxwatches.com/reviews/grand-seiko-sbgv009-sbgv011

Looks like the 581 May only come on the rubber strap. The normal seiko rubber strap is extremely stuff and uncomfortable but this one on the 581 looks slightly different. Hopefully the rubber is softer!

Need a price for a 581 on bracelet. Me too. I'll email Dan tomorrow. Found this from a Basel release... "For the first time Seiko will distribute its Prospex line outside of Japan starting in 2014, and one of the new models for this global push is the Prospex Air Diver 200 m "Monster". The Prospex Monster has the same specs as the other Monster watches powered by the 4R36 movement, but it features new case colours as well as the redesigned Prospex logo on the dial. Case diameter is 42.3 mm with a 200 m depth rating and a Hardlex crystal (strengthened mineral glass). The 4R36 movement has a 41 hour power reserve, hack seconds and hand-winding capability. Two models are available, both with black PVD coated cases, each taking elements from the 100th Anniverary Blue Monster of 2013. The SRP581K1 has a black case and blue coated bezel, along with a blue minute hand, and is on a black rubber strap. And the SRP583K1 has a black case and bezel, along with a gold hands and a gold crown, on a black coated bracelet. The new Prospex Monster on rubber strap will be US$475, while the version on bracelet will be US$595." i assume this this means the bracelet would be PVD coated as well.
