Anyone heard any price increase rumors? The reason I mention this is that, as most of you know, I've been watch shopping (haven't we all? ) and the local AD I've been working with told me that many of the European watch makers were either raising prices in early 2008, or considering it, to reflect the greatly weakened US dollar. He seemed earnest to me, as he mentioned this after I had pretty much made up my mind to buy, and didn't just say it as a sales tactic. That's why instead of just having them try to get the watch I want in the store for me to see, I actually made a layaway deal to lock in the price. Maryland is also raising its sales tax in January as well, so it locked the current rate in as well. So...if anyone is thinking about making a watch purchase in early 2008, putting one on layaway now, and making payments for several months, may be a good deal. -Ben

I heard the same thing from my Rolex/Omega AD a few weeks ago. Rolex price increase the first half of 2008 to reflect the weak dollar vs Euro.....but that's a pretty safe bet since they have been raising prices every single year!

Are any of the watches are you getting from the US produced here? I know of one fine custom piece coming from Canada, but not too much else!
