There are so many models of G-shocks available it boggles the mind so it's almost impossible to recommend a single one. I think if I only could have one it would have to have both the solar charging function and radio control. The models with both those features are more expensive but worth it.

Have you ever ordered a G-Shock from ebay? Particularly the ones from Japan?

Yup! Wal Mart is the place to go for those beater specials! I've gotten a few watches from Asia, all Seikos and all good transactions. I read the descrition thoroughly and if the seller has a good amount of positive feedback, I trust it. Good luck and did anyone mention we like pictures here? Al II

I actually have the metal version of that one, well it's still plastic with some metal parts. Great watch, very rugged and maintenance free. here's a scan and a link for you. www.g-shock.de/euro/lineup/mtg-930de-8ver/

Does anyone have the GW500A-1V?? I have 2 of those....one silver and one black. I bought them both at Costco about 2 years apart. I think they were about $50 each. Very durable watches. The silver one was my first G-Shock.
