Well it's been over 2 weeks since the Astron landed, and as most of you will have noticed it's hardly been off my wrist apart from in work. It was a bit of a gamble going for it as if never seen 1 IRL, but I'm so pleased I went for it. I'd been looking since the back end of last summer for my next watch, but with the way prices are rising on the usual suspects(Rolex, Omega, Breitling etc) those are going out my price range at the moment unless I went 2nd hand. But wanting something new out the box and setting a limit to what I'd spend made me think a bit more, also all the stuff that's been posted on the Seiko GS really got me looking at the brand in a lot more detail. After reading many things over the internet the Astron range really interested me. I like new technology, and having this sort of tech in a watch really stole it for me. So then I came down to which model I go for? One of the main things that worried me about the watch is it's size, nearly 45dia and 13mm thick. I thought it would be a heavy piece, but having gone for the rubber strap the weight isn't a issue, also the new models in the range are 30% smaller but with more features. Seems like Seiko aren't standing still on this one. Seiko have held nothing back on the finish, case is stainless steel with a black hard coating. Ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal & all the technology that's is in the watch. They also do a standard. stainless steel & titanium models, but this colour combination really grabbed my eye. Totally different from anything else I've got. When I'm dropping Tilly off at school every morning, it does its GPS search and does a time check, which brings a smile to my face. So as you can tell I'm very happy with my purchase :-)

I'm so glad you like it!
I miss mine quite a bit and I hope to have another one at some point.

I love that color combination. It's a great looking watch and the fact that the tech in it makes you grin, all the better. Congrats again on a cool piece.

There is nothing better than making a watch purchase based upon what the heart wants then finding out you hit the nail on the head, well done Marcus, I think it's a stunning watch and a real testament to how Seiko should be regarded as nothing but a seriously great and innovative watch company.

Beautiful display. I really like orange hands and markers. Orange is the new black.

I've had a leather strap made for it. Love the rubber strap it came on but want to keep that for holiday use, great for when swimming. Also on a leather strap means it fits in my jeans pocket betterwhen I'm in work :-)

Wonderful watch, and great choice for the new strap as well. I have yet to see one in real life. However, by all reports, I don't think I would have a problem ordering one without first seeing it. My GS sold me on Seiko. I find those orange accents very appealing as well. Congratulations! Carl

We are planning another Euro trip. ( iceman is aware of it as we plan to meet again) and I reckon I'll need an Astron myself for that trip!
