My mom brought this over about a year ago. Used to be my dad's. Forgot about it. Then I dragged it out to ask Chip about it to see if it's worth fixing, as it appeared not to be running. Told Roger about it and picked it up and damn if it didn't just startup and began ticking away! The date dial is busted and it needs a cleaning...off to the local guy on Saturday. So anyway, I'm just realizing...whoa! I own an Omega Seamaster! It certainly helped that I chucked the Spidel Elastobungie and picked up this nice little leather croco strap.

That's a gorgeous watch and you can't possibly beat the history!
Get that beauty serviced and wear it with pride.

That's great that you are getting it serviced and putting it back in use. IIRC, Turler was/is a high end jewelry store that use to (may still) co-brand watches similar to what Tiffany's did in the US, which adds to the uniqueness of the watch.

Just dropped it off at the shop. Mr. Margi says, "Full overhaul...for you, $160., how is your mother?" Two weeks or so....

Yup. Make sure he does not redial it. Leave that as it is, mechanical only.

Yup. Make sure he does not redial it. Leave that as it is, mechanical only. He was commenting on how nice the dial had held up. No worries there Chip.

Well worth the cost to have it serviced! You're getting one heck of a deal there, I'm excited for you. Watches mean so much more with this sort of story and history behind them. Enjoy in good health and keep it well for the next generation!

Looks great! How sweet to have a piece of family history ticking away on the wrist again.

Having it back must be the best possible feeling. You certainly did the right thing here and you'll enjoy this for many more years to come.

Looks great! How sweet to have a piece of family history ticking away on the wrist again. Thanks Roger. What's really ironic is that after being somewhat dismissive of it early in my stewardship, I've figured out that it's likely the most valuable piece I own - beyond my obvious emotional attachment. Thanks for the encouragement guys!
