Yup, and then Rolex basically 'stole' the design of the FF and marketed it better than Blancpain and the rest, they say... is histoire. I've always loved the FF. Great watch.

That FF is a GREAT watch!!! Also tha SD too... ;D Nobody stole the design, right? Because Turn-O-Graph made that bezel model maybe in around 1952.

Sorry TR, the Turnograph, which was the pre-Sub came out about a year after the FF was released. There's no question in the WIS world about who came up with the design and who took it and marketed it better.

Before I got my GO Sport EVO I seriously considered the Fifty Fathoms - and tried one on at the AD. The historical importance of the watch is reason enough to want one. Aesthetically, it's gorgeous! In the end, I chose the GO and I'm very happy with my decision. The Blancpain would really have been several thousand dollars out of my price range, and at 45mm is really too big for a daily wear watch - for me, anyway. But - Wowzers! - stunning. -Ben

It is obvious that Blancpain was ans still is light years ahead of Rolex when it comes to dive watches. They have not changed their borrowed design in decades. Blancpain FF however, has produced a design this year that everyone including myself is salivating after. Two of my friends have ordered this watch and one has received it and at a recent lunch I saw it in person. I have owned a Rolex and felt nothing special, especially in view of its small size. The FF is magnificent. These pictures were taken by one of the guys expecting his FF to be delivered soon. You must agree that Rolex cannot hold a candle to this unbelievable watch. It is truly magnificent. I can almost hear Rolex saying, now how can we steal this model.
