My old watch from my high school days! I was cleaning out a closet and this popped up from an old box of stuff. I bought this one when I was like sixteen years old from one of those lighted, mirrored spinning carousel sales displays in the corner drugstore in my old neighborhood. I think I paid about twenty bucks for it. I thought it was long gone, what a surprise and it's running too! I wonder if I should get it some loving care from a watchmaker, a nice cleaning and some oil, polish the plastic crystal get it a nice bracelet or strap? Probably a poor investment money wise but the sentimental value is there, what do you guys think? It's a tiny thing about 35mm or so, don't think I'd wear it much but I'd like to preserve it. I just did some research, that M7 under the serial number is a manufacturing date code corresponding to 1967 the same year that I bought it.

That's too cool Warren! I'd keep it and pass it down. I'm a "junk" collector though, and I have a hard time parting with things though. I have boxes of things that I will never use or touch again that I just can't bring myself to throw away.

Funny. Says "waterproof". I still smile when I see that...

Very nice! Great find! I'm hoping my parents will find my dad's old Bulova he bought when he was in the RCAF. Would be nice to get it running again if it can be found.

I got a strap at the mall. Not many 17mm straps to pick from. Forgive the crappy sitting on a piece of paper, mixed tungsten and flash filtered through a dixie cup shot but you get the idea...

I like it! 17mm would be a bit of a tough size to find.

I was thinking about getting it serviced but it's running all right and keeping time so far. I polished the crystal a bit with some toothpaste and got the crud off the case. I think that's as far as I'm going to go with it. I don't want to clean it up too much It might polish away the memories. I was thrilled just to find it. I've thought about this watch a few times since I became interested in watches as a hobby and I really thought it was lost. Finding it really made my day.

what a great find warren! and it is still in excellnet condition... a service and a new crystal will make this look like new again!!!. I would leave case as is though.. it really bugs me when these old timers are polished up.
