Actually it's already here
It's a gift for my youngest son turning 16 today. Should be able to get a wrist shot later on.

Sweet! Does he have the bug? What's he think about the jubilee?

That's awesome. You can't beat Seiko, I wear the Samurai a lot more than I thought I would.

Amazing 16th birthday gift. Happy Birthday to him! That is a beautiful watch, and great gift for any occasion. He must be thrilled.

Sorry, and I am sure this will offend someone. I think Seiko make great divers watches, and I have 2 myself, however the remainder of their range just looks so boring. Of course, there will be the odd exception

You are spot on with their divers being probably the most popular grouping within their watch collections. And with any mega corporation who makes such a wide variety of models, The majority of the overall portfolio will not please the average consumer, but each of us will find something to like within the portfolio. That's probably a good thing too because if we all liked just the divers it would be a pretty boring world. Case in point - Art's Cocktail Time is one of their dress watches that really works for me. aquajoe - how's your son feeling about the watch these day? Still into it?

I'm going to throw in the Alpinist. The finish on this watch is spectacular given the price point. The green dial is definitely not boring. I will agree on your point that many are boring. They have an abundance of watches that are too similar in style and features. IMHO they should cull the herd.
