A nice review.
I really think that the monster and the samurai are two of the best value watches out there. The bang for the buck is enormous, and it makes me shake my head when I see weird concoctions from other brands (mostly the Asian micro brands that pop up every day), that appear of lesser quality, and sell for twice the money or more.
I hardly ever wear my Blue Lagoon, but I sure do like it.

Good review and I like they they compared it to the original Samurai. I love my Blue Lagoon version. I forgot that the Orange model was distributed 2 ways - Amazon only with the extra rubber strap and different model number (SRPB97) versus normal channels with bracelet only (SRPC07). What was the original pre-order price on Amazon? I see they still have it and it's listed at $431.25 (25% off) and I'm tempted to grab one and put it in storage for a decade or so and see if that sales route goes away and the prices jump.

I do agree that it wears smaller the dimensions suggest. The Amazon model was a sweet deal in Canada for a while, under 400.00 CDN at one point. I still haven’t sized the bracelet and the included rubber strap is a tad too long. I’m liking this Hadley Roma, not to stiff or stinky..

That review, and your's as well, really make me think . I keep craving a diver watch with an orange dial. Having the Eterna has really got me past the doubts about diver watches and large watches in general. It is 44mm and likely fits about like the Samurai does. One of the waiters at my local Italian has a Seiko diver, and I am really very impressed with the quality. We often compare watches, and I really am starting to pay more attention to Seiko thanks to him.
