I have been waiting on a BLNR since about February. It was to be my 50th Birthday present which was back on April 6th. So I wait patiently .... then all news about the BLNR being discontinued over the weekend. I reach out to my AD on Monday and he tells me he's heard the rumor and it makes sense, but it's only a rumor. No confirmation from Rolex and we will have to wait until Basel. Then on Tuesday he tells me that Rolex is done shipping for the year and that there will be no BLNR for Christmas.
So it is what it is. I figure I'm not getting one and that's ok. Life is good and my not getting the watch is hardly a real world problem. I make peace with it as silly as that may sound.
Then, this morning at 9:38 am CST comes the text - "Do you believe in miracles my friend?"
I can't believe it. A BLNR at MSRP - saw one today advertied BNIB for $14,000! I think I'll take this one instead.
This is my first post and I just wanted to share. Seems like some pieces are hitting the market right now. Best of luck to all who are waiting.

Congratulations. List price is so much better than $14K.

Congrats Matt! Fantastic first post and a real Christmas miracle.
Personally, I think they’ll update the movement and change the model number.

Congratulations, Matt J. ! I’m beyond excited for you, hardly a day goes by without you and I talking about that BLNR. So happy it finally makes its way to you! Can’t wait to see it.

Thanks everyone!
Roger I think you might very well be right. And from a functionality standpoint the 70 hour power reserve is a big plus. I would have loved to wait for the new movement but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to own this piece.
I’ll post pictures later today. FedEx is inbound - waiting......

Well done indeed! Happy belated Birthday, and Merry Christmas. Glad that your patience paid off, and I am sure that makes it more enjoyable. I am sure many are waiting for "the call". And a great way to start out here in the forum. All the Best, and enjoy the season with your new beauty. Cheers, Carl

You made the right call Matt. When the AD calls, no reason to say no thanks. The movement update isn’t that big of a deal and if it’s actually discontinued you’d be SOL.

It is a good thing that you went ahead with this. I did the same with an Explorer 1, just a couple of months ago. Not as rare as the BLNR, but still popular and fairly difficult to obtain. I thought about waiting for 2019, and I am fairly sure the new movement will be in most of the models by then. However, I thought you can wait forever for the latest updates, and still never be satisfied that you get the "latest". There will always be updates, and you can never truly be up-to-date unless you trade every year - like an automobile. If you take care of it, you will have it the rest of your life (a fine thing for me to say, who is one who rarely keeps a watch even until the warranty expires! ). Cheers Carl
