Hello guys. I am very interested in a Penerai destro model (44mm) but I know the watch is left-handed watch. But I am not a left-handed person. I know that I have a thin wrist for 44mm watches but I still like Panerai. Even though I had PAM26 long time ago but I already sold it. I never expected the PAM26 would have premium like in current market. Anyway, I am considering PAM 796 or PAM 797. I saw many people wore their Panerai destro on left wrist. What I like the 796 that has see-though caseback and power reserve indicator prominently displayed on the movement. The dial has pointed a blue color 8 days which looks good to me. The PAM797 has titanium case, and tobacco dial with power reserve indicator located on the dial but the watch has solid caseback. I saw some people claimed the power reserve indicator on the dial is hideous (the dial looks good to me tho). I have no experiences having titanium case or tobacco dial PAM (I like the case because it is a matte looking). What I have heard the case is grade 5 titanium which is harder than other titanium case watches. I need your honest opinion then I may save up fund for another watch. Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I’d go with the first one, because I’ve never been a fan of the PR on the front. The clean dial has been an iconic design feature of the brand, and I feel like the PR is not necessary. Not on the front.

I am right handed but I wear watches on my right wrist, and I can tell you that wearing the watch on the opposite wrist than intended has never been an issue. Quite the opposite, the crown never digs into your hand!
Let’s face it, not like you will mess with the crown every few minutes.

I am leaning toward taking the 796

I agree with Chip on having the PR on the back and the touch of blue on the dial of the 796 is nice.
As for titanium, I have 2 and I LOVE them. Very comfortable because of the light weight and the titanium gets a little darker with time as it oxidizes.

I like that both dials have sandwich indices on the sub dials. The blue looks good on the 796 but the pr looks good too on 797. Splitting hairs, I seem to prefer the logo color on the 797. Matches the lume. 797 also has less large text which I like more between the two. On the dial alone...797.

My vote is for the 796. I don't like the PR display on the dial. Like Chip says, having the crown on the left is a bonus. No digging. I have a Pelagos LHD and never have an issue wearing on my left arm.
