Had a call from RSC London today and they told me that my Sub has a "non genuine" crystal. I'm not really surprised, as I asked them when I handed it over to check the crystal, as I couldn't find the etched crown on it. They assured me at that time, it was genuine as they don't etch them all. I mentioned to them, that I had asked this to be checked and they said it was OK? they replied, it has a stronger magnification than an original, but was not noticed at first. Price quoted, £116 + vat. I purchased the watch from Watchfinder UK. They guarantee 100% original Rolex. I called them and they asked for the information from Rolex. I have sent this to them and they are currently investigating it. Hopefully, this will end up all being well. Middle of next week I should have my sub back, fully serviced and a new crystal. I have a good feeling, that Watchfinder will cover the cost. Can you tell?

Wow, that is powerful mag on the cyclops! I hope watchfinder comes through for you, but good that it will be replaced either way. I'd feel better about water tightness with OEM crystal for sure.

Glad to hear they didn’t let you down, I enjoy their YouTube channel too much and I’d hate to give it up because their didn’t hold their end of the deal. On a different note, are you ready to see the temperature yet?

I like to see their channel also and would have been disappointed if they hadn't upheld their guarantee of being 100% Rolex. I'm more than happy to never know your temperature in Texas!! Roger, I'm not made for that kind of heat, you know it makes me stay in watching the grass burn.....

I'd hate it without A/C but we are lucky to have it. For spring/fall, we also have a whole house attic fan - you open some windows, turn the fan on and it sucks in the cool evening air and pulls the hot air out of the house through the ceiling and into the attic, which is vented to the outside. Does an amazing job cooling off the house cheaply when the evening temperatures are cooler outside.

OK, here she is. Just back from RSC London (with sh*tty old crystal in a small bag) That’s a new service box - at least new to me. Glad you got it all sorted out so quickly.
