Another unsuccessful shopping trip. No TP, paper towels, distilled water or cooking oils. Only got 1 the things on Laurie’s list. WTF?

That sucks! Luckily, in our little community, we made it a point to not hoard. Articles and editorials and folks when at the grocery are told to be sensible and that there will be enough for everyone if hoarding is avoided. There are no social gatherings, no parties, etc so there really is no need to see someone stockpiling paper products and sanitizers/sani-wipes. You'd look bad if you try to pull something like that in our grocery. We have a handful of volunteers shopping for the elderly so they are given a pass to be able to shop for more items but that's pretty much about it. Sani-wipes and sanitizers are still being handed out(entrance and exit) at the grocery store and carts are being wiped down and sprayed frequently. So far, zero cases in the county. Our concern is the increase in cabin rentals from folks staying away from the virus. They're coming from other counties and states. Outsiders or basically violators of "Stay at home" are told to please quarantine themselves upon arrival. As long as rental cabins are operational and accepting outsiders, it will be just a matter of time before we get our first case and outbreak.

akabw - Yeah, I've seen posts online asking how the snowshoeing is in the mtns since the ski area is shut down and those folks are getting ripped on about staying home and exercising local rather than traveling to do so. I've also read that some areas of FL and other states are shutting down AirBNBs/vacation rentals just for this reason.

Moving dirt and planting all day. Now I’m spending a little quality time with water fall. May have a leak issue for contractors to deal with. We went shopping yesterday. TP and sanitizers are back in stock and purchasing is limited. What we can’t find strangely enough is veggies. Frozen, canned or fresh. Weird. A lot of people listening to their Moms I guess.

akabw Here in British Columbia, a lot of the smaller communities are begging people to stay away. Many of them simply don't have medical facilities to cope with any extra patients. Now is not the time to take a vacation! And when I walk to the shops a couple times a week, many times I have to leave the sidewalk and move out into the street, to give clearance to people who don't seem to comprehend social distancing. Finally, the shops are starting to limit supples, often 1 or 2 to a customer, but it is kind of late.
