net Surfing yields this... The year 1959 marks the advent of reference 7928. On this new generation of dive watches, TUDOR for the first time proposed the principle of guards to protect the winding crown from shocks. The offered watch was once ordered by the Argentinian navy in order to take part in diving expeditions. All ordered watches of this reference have been marked with a caseback engraving in the format “612xx CI”, which can be found on the caseback of the offered watch. 40mm, no b/p $30,494 chrono24

Wow, the history behind these watches never fails to amaze me.
I like the modern Tudor watches, mostly based on the heritage models anyway, but never ended up adding one to my collection.
They're awesome but have nothing on the originals. However, even if I owned a piece like the one in your original post, I would want to preserve it as much as possible.
Watches in general are pieces of history in my opinion and it's nice to see these come up for sale, albeit very rare and for a King's Ransome.
