Sitting here tonight looking at my wrist—the watch I always wanted, a SS Zenith Daytona, my grail watch when I was too damn poor and these things were too damn expensive to own. Now I have one. (Damn, first-world problems). I bought bubble wrap, tape, an inner and outer box, and extra dunnage to ensure the inner box didn’t move around too much. I laid it all out on the basement table and couldn’t box it up. I couldn’t pry the damn thing off my wrist. What the hell is my problem? I stopped flipping these watches years ago, and now I’m back where I was before? No sir. You know the dealer wouldn’t trade if the deal was in my favor? I know this, yet I wanted that stupid Red Submariner back again. It’s never going to happen, the clock will never go backwards. I will die with this busy three-ring circus on my wrist. Damn Rolex to hell. 🤦🏼

Albeit a problem, this is a great one to have, indeed. The Daytona has one of the nicest Chronograph dials ever made in my opinion. Hard for anyone to justify both in this market, but I suspect you'll still want the Submarine, not enough yet to part with this gem though.

No, I cannot justify both, nor would I rotate them. I know myself; I’d wear only one, and the other would gather dust in the safe. A Sub is great, no doubt, but Daytonas are cool. It’s a hot watch. Maybe I’ll get it engraved telling my daughter never to sell it. 😉

Absolutely, she could definitely wear this in the future if she desires. If you spend more time browsing Daytona content it will help you better appreciate this, I'm sure.

It's coming from personal experience haha. Also if you don't already, try use the chronograph sometimes. You're very lucky to have this piece really.

Steve, take a breath and try to appreciate what you have. Many would give up a kidney for such a historically significant Daytona. There’s always something bigger and better out there, but the land you bought and will build on and your daughter’s education are amazing accomplishments. A watch that speaks to you more may come along in the future, but don’t rush it.

First world problem right there… enjoy it and be happy. I dont mean that to be callous. Wonderful watch, wonderful life. Sell it if it doesnt make you happy!
