Guys,
There seems a growing trend both amongst the members of this site and the WIS world generally to gravitate towards italian inspired 'divers' watches such as panerai etc..
These watches are great watches however they are out of the reach of many WIS ( $$$) whom are on more of a budget. I have come across this particular line from Glycine which i wanted to share with you which has this very distinct style but comes in at a budget.. The Glycine Incursore Line.
The Incursore was the name of an elite italian divers team who were trained in using two man submersible submarines which could approach vessels underwater so that the incursore could plant explosives on the underside of the vessels.
The Glycine incursore line is a tough durable watch which is available in 44mm sizes and for those whom size matters 46mm. They have hardened K1 mineral crystal and are available with both automatic 2824-2 and manual wind unitas 6947 movement. They have display backs to show off their movements and are similar in styling to the more expensive panerai line. They are water resistant to 100m (44mm) and 200m (46mm line). Again, for the strap changers out there, they are very flexible in this respect.
The Glycine Incursore are a lot of watch for the money and the finishing is excellent, they retail at between $600-$800 from a variety of online merchants.
Here are some pictures that i have obtained from the net:
I have handled one of these watches at a dealer near to wear i live and they are well made watches, well worth the money IMHO. I would have bought one, were it not for my small wrist size.
