Just a note on the accuracy of my Father's Hamilton Railway Special pocket watch that I recently had serviced. After one week it has gained 1 sec.! I may cut up an old belt for a strap and really get into the "Big Watch" scene. ;D

Guys,
I keep telling my Rolex and Omega friends (btw, I own one of each) that these antique pocket watches will wax their 4 figure wristwatches! ;D
Seriously, a properly serviced and maintained 20th Century pocket watch is capable of +/- 1 sec./day accuracy. The railroads demanded that level of performance, and companies like Hamilton, Elgin, Rockford, Hampden, Illinois, and Waltham stepped up to the bar.
Let's hear it for these classic performers!

Soon as I am near my watchmaker, I'm going to drop off an old Hamilton 992b, and hope I can get similar results. I think they like to work on those old beauties!
