I was wondering about the Breitling 17 movement. Just wanted to learn a little bit about what my Steelfish has for a movement. I know that it is a lesser expensive movement. But is it modified by Breitling or is it just finished or what does it all mean? Any good websites talking about it? Just curious. Posting pictures is fun! ---- ;D

Hi Haj, Breitling stopped making in house movements in the early 50's I think. The Breitling 17 is based on the ETA 2824. Breitling usually decorates these with Geneva waves and some circular graining. Not an expert, so not sure what else. TZ has a good unofficial Breitling FAQ people.timezone.com/breitling/bfaq/#C-15And there's a really good blow up of the movement here. people.timezone.com/breitling/bfaq/gallery/images/B17_1.jpgThis is a really good link that I think Adam may have posted originally (sorry if that's wrong). It's part of the Breitling site. Each section has a small video (movement, case, dial, hands, crystal) - worth watching. www.breitling.com/en/made_by/ Best Rambler
