Hello. My name is Jon. I am new to the forum. I intend to purchase a high end quartz watch.
How do the new Raymond Weil RW Sport quartz models compare to Breitling quartz watches?
I appreciate your consideration.
Jon

Welcome to WWF!
I used to own a Raymond Weil Parsifal quartz dress watch, which during about 8 years of service was 100% trouble free. I sold it about 2 years ago since I was never wearing it.
However... it is pretty much agreed among WIS that Breitling makes about the best current quartz watch out there. (The Rolex OysterQuarts was probably a tad better and more complex, but it is not defunct). Breitling quartz watches use a Thermo Compensated movement, which account for temperature differences and it is one of (if not the most) accurate watch that is currently produced. Also, since their movements go into tool watches that at times could be used as a life boat (example: Breitling Aeromarine Professional Emergency) they are extremely tough and can take some serious abuse.
Bottom line, any higher end watch, even with a quartz movement will last you a while. On the other hand, the movement in the Raymond Weil costs about 10 bucks, while the movement in a Breitling will cost a whole lot more due the complexity, accuracy, and the fact that it is a Certified Chronometer.
Hope this helped some.

I'd go with a Breitling Quartz.....for a lot of the reasons Chip mentioned.....and their style just suits me better. Are there any particular models you're looking at...both Breitling and Raymond Weil? Also, welcome to the forum.

Ooppps. I meant meters and typed feet. Sorry. Me silly American. Still think in feet. But, you know, 10,000 feet or 11,000 meters. If I'm ever that deep I'd like to think that I have more important things to worry about than what time it is. -Ben

I would choose Breitling in a heartbeat: Breitling Thermo Compensated Superquartz models are accurate to a few seconds per year. Finish and quality are superb:
