Congratulations! Debaufre are the US arm of Steinhart and are fantastic pieces! i presume that is the automatic version? and not the unitas 6497 manual wind with modified central seconds hand?.

Thank you all Yes, that is the new limited edition (200 pieces) automatic model. I have tried the first generation Steinhart GM before, and that was the manual wind model... I thought it was rather thin and light. I noticed that the case was not that tall and that was causing the crown dig into my wrist. I heard that the lim. ed. manual wind had a thicker case but I have not seen it in person. This particular case is rather thick (about 15mm or so)... so I don't have the same problem with the crown on this one. Here is a quick wrist shot... not a very good one though... you can see the reflection of the hand holding the camera ;D Best regards...

altan, you are right regarding first generatuion cases.. these have now all been changed so the cases are much thicker making the watch feel more substantial and making the crown problem negated.

That is good to know. I remember the first generation Azimuth Flieger pieces, they had the same problem too. Steinhart/Debaufre really offers high quality pieces at very attractive price points... unfortunately, that does not happen very often in this market... Congratulations again...
