I realise that this is a "good" problem to have but I just can't decide which way to go with my £3,500 gbp budget? I prefferably want two watches, one for everyday and one for weekend / evenings (not a pure dress watch though) I have a Rolex LV on order (10% discount) but can change my mind if I want. Do I... A/ Get the LV, leaving me only £650 gbp to get another watch with? B/ Get a Datejust (£2,200 with discount), leaving me £1,350 to get another watch i.e Omega SMP, PO or Tag carrera "Pan America" rero chrono? (I can get around 20-25% off Omega / Tag). C/ Get a PO and the Carrerra D/ PO & Datejust C/ Other combo (please state what & why?) I know it's my choice but I simply love all of them and can't decide! I'll wish I could have whichever ones I dont choose so its a matter of which combo will cause the least regret!!! Your votes and reasons / opinions appreciated & please can you give reasons and name the watch if you choose "other" :thumbup1: Here's some pics of the watches... Rolex Sub LV Planet Ocean (This colour is the one I like) Tag Carrera "Retro" Datejust (This model)

Well, I wish I had your decision to make. If I did, it would be off to the JLC dealer!
But, for you. I always say to get what you really want, even if it takes longer to get it, because everything else will just be a compromise. You seem to be very keen on the green Sub LV. You've got one as your signature photo and you've already got one on order. Seems like this is the one you really want out of the list you gave. Not sure what the real decision is.
Go for the LV and with £650 left over you can get one helluva beater!

You speak wisdom but i just can't find a beater for £659 that I WANT Are Invicta any good? With £659, you're waaaaaaaaaay above Invicta league. There's plenty of nice watches in that range. If you don't find exactly what you want, wear the green Sub for a while and then stash away a few more £££ over the next few months and then buy that second watch you really want.

I'll go along with Sam on that one. Although a big DJ fan without some of the "accessories" to dress it up I prefer some of the other offerings out there. ;D

I went with the LV.. and my thinking behind that is simple. Out of the watches you've chosen the LV will be the one that holds it's value MEANING that if by some freaky chance you arent happy with it it will be far easier for you to go down to a PO than say up to a LV if you buy the PO and regret it later! I hope that makes sense

Macros,
Not knowing the age/service history of the rest of your collection, I offer the suggestion of getting 2 or 3 serviced to make them 'like new' when your greenie arrives. May not apply but worth the thought...
Take care........................................Tyler

Go for the LV and get something reasonable with the change, maybe a used Seamaster ?. I have a Carrera and a PO, both nice watches but imho the LV is head and shoulders above both of the aforementioned. B.

Thanks guys, good advice as always. I am swinging like a pendulum at the moment! One day I'm all over the LV (ordered one and canceled) , another I'm thinking PO and De ville "Power Reserve" (Ordered them and canceled the next day) and another I'm thinking DJ and PO/ SMP (almost ordered but stopped myself) I'm well aware of my "fickle" nature regarding watches, which is precisely why I must get it right this time! It costs too much in lost value every time I "flip" Mac.

You are putting to much pressure on yourself! I understand this all to well... no idea what my next one will be and I've nearly got my money together. I think you need to keep trying on these models till you figure it out and don't compromise. Why do you want 2 watches? Just pick the one u love most, enjoy it and then add something later when you are starting to get that itch again. Just an idea.....
