hello folks, i am new, and truthfully not a watch enthusiast. i am here to find some help id'ing my wifes grandfathers Heuer. It is a nice watch in need of "restoration" we are not gonna sell it. the truth is we are discussing either getting it restored and giving to her Dad as a gift, or else my keeping it. it doesnt matter either way, but it will be kept in our family and worn, after the repairs. I am hoping to find some resources to id and date this watch, and have it restored. any help would be much appreciated. now the details.... He died in 89 so it is at least that old if not years/decades older/ It is a Heuer, no reference to tag(i dont know if that means anything). it is stainless a moveable divers ring around the outer crystal, of course it is large! It has the name regatta on the faceunderneath that it says "automatic" and underneath that "100 metres"
the face is a stainless color with blackhands with flourescent strips down the center. it also has an orange and stainless second hand. the rather odd/significant feature on the face is 5 holes across the top of the face from about 52 minutes to 7 minutes. there is an external button above the winderat the 10 minutes location. you push this button and these holes are filled with a blue background and it resets the second hand at 12 o clock. then as the second hand spins around the face the blue dots start to rotate to a red dot starting with the dot under 52 minutes, and continuing across until they are all red, and then finally rotating back to the stainless color. evidently after some minor observation each dot signifies 1 minute. meaning it takes 1 minute for the dots to change color in series. there is what appears to be a 6 digit serial number on the back 134.603.
If anyone can help me id this family heirloom, or pass on resources to do so it would be much appreciated. thank you in advance Dan
