After going through a handful of straps, I think I've found the exact look I was going for with the 210. I also have to say that Micah is such a great guy to work with. The first Mauser strap he made for me was very dry leather & developed cracks right from the get go. He immediately said to let him make me another one. This second one is even better looking.....it's a little darker and much less dry. Like I said.....perfect!

Excellent! Did he tear up an old bomber jacket for the leather? Looks really good!

Excellent! Did he tear up an old bomber jacket for the leather? Looks really good! I have a Micah strap made from the same material - but different thread. He uses WWII German ammunition pouches. Sam - if Micah sent you some of the leather treatment with the strap - use it. You have to keep these supple or they'll crack. -Ben

Lookin good Sam! Nice strap and excellent service you recieved. Micah emailed me after I made a grouchy post on risti about aftermarket straps. He was great, explained a few things to me and seems like a decent guy.
I'm going for dressier looking straps on my 210, not sure if Micah has anything to suit me.

That wasn't the problem on the first strap he made. He said the lighter Mausers are a dryer hide and can crack very easily. Mine cracked the first day I wore it.

Does it smell like a Simona? Smells more like WWII leather that has been sitting in a musty trunk for half a century....maybe with a little gun powder on it. Mmmmm ;D
