Well, here I am awaiting the return of my AD from holiday.
Whilst he's away I've been trying to confirm a decision on what to do with my cash. I've sold my SMP.
I can get a Rolex Sub LV BNIB for a great deal (inc a black bezel included) but that means not getting the Deville Power Reserve.
I still have my Tag 64' retro Carrera, which despite not being that easy to read I love the look of.
Even if I sold it I could'nt get the DeVille.
However I do have choices.
The AD has in a 42mm PO (black bezel / orange No.s - my favourite version) and it's in very good condition. Originally supplied by him.
I could either....
A/ Get the LV and keep the Tag
B/ Forget the LV and get the PO and the DeVille Power Reserve, still keeping the Tag.
C/ Get the LV, sell the Tag and save for a pre owned DeVille PR (as if they ever come up in the UK!)
In an ideal world I'd love to have a DeVille PR AND the Sub but financially that's just not feasible.
If I pass on the Sub it's bound to go up in price so would I be better off getting it while I can and getting the DeVille whenever/ If Ever I can, perhaps used?
What would YOU do?

Given the choices, I'd get the LV....that's what you really want. As far as the price going up, I don't see anything drastic happening anytime soon. Preowned LV's have been going for about $4.8K for a couple of years.....regardless of what's going on with Rolex MSRP.
If you get the PO, you will flip it...guaranteed.

B/ Forget the LV and get the PO and the DeVille Power Reserve, still keeping the Tag. That is what I would do, but is that really relevant? I don't think anyone here is going to be able to solve this one for you. You need to pick the one that suits you the best, and live with the fact you may lose some money flipping if it doesn't work out. Good luck.

I Know, you're right of course but I need a few opinions to give me perspective. Whichever one I pass up I'll likely never own. I've wanted the DeVille PR for years but always changed my mind at the last minute and got something else! but.... I've always regretted selling my Sub and after that my SD. Each has it's merits. In an ideal world I'd have both but I simply can't afford it, even if I sold my Tag I'd not have enough for the DeVille AND the Sub. Not even if I went for a Std Sub 16610 instead of the LV. So...?

Whichever one I pass up I'll likely never own. Are you sure about that? I think whichever one you buy, you'll most likely flip it and buy the other one before the year's end.

I'd go LV. An insert change gives some versatility.

Get the LV, as you've said before you think it's more versatile for you!
Save up slowly for the PR, you'll get there... sell the Tag if you have to, it all helps.

LV before 3Q '09, and the DeVille by 4Q '09. Off the Tag. In 2010 get the PO.

Because it's not what you really want. Like so many times before...if you buy what is convenient at the time instead of holding out for the one you really want, you will sell it in short time & move on. If you get the PO, you will flip it...guaranteed. Sam, why do you say that?

Get the LV. Seems like that what you really want.
