WShich brand of watch goes up in value the fastest (if you buy it new today)? Which vintage brand would be the least expensive to start with for a new investor of watches? Thanks, Dan E-mail address: westphalia1 AT yahoo DOT com

Welcome. You know, with new offerings it can be a bit of a crap shoot. I've always gone with what I like best and if they should go up in value it's a bonus. With references like the Rolex Daytona and Milgauss GV you'll hold your own. In the vintage arena three that come to mind to me are the Omega Speedmaster--a very nice reference with so much history, and the Rolex 5513 and 1675. Neither are rare offerings, but nice examples certainly hold their own and allow the new collector a way in without selling a kidney. LOL!
