I am in Southeast Michigan and am trying to locate (local) wristwatch dealers that deal "strictly" with collectible and vintage wristwatches. I can't find anything so far (in my region). Or my maybe i am not researching it correctly. All i am able to find are antique dealers (100's of them). Can anyone give me better direction? Thanks, Dan e-mail address: westphalia1 AT yahoo DOT com

Thanks, Dan e-mail address: westphalia1 AT yahoo DOT com I'm not familiar with dealers in your area, however in researching select vintage pieces the internet can be your guide. I normally start by slecting/researching a given midel/reference. Learn all I can about the reference including changes that occured along the way and then start researching venues that may have what I'm looking for. I don't discount private sales provided the seller is known and a stand up seller.---Buy the seller. Vintage dealers can be a source to study pricing, but normally dealer price will be a bit higher (cost of doing business). Never the less a good dealer might provide a specific watch that can't be located elsewhere. Since you didn't specify a brand, I can give you some I've delt with over the years and have been satisfied. www.watchcommander.com/Great guys to deal with. Matt is straight up and they stand behind their product. www.wannabuyawatch.com/Ken can be pricey...a lot! He has a brick and motor store and deals a lot with the Hollywood set. Very knowledgeable and has a Rolex trained watch guy in his employ. Know what you're looking at and ask questions. 10pastten.com/Eric is super. No junk here though pricing again reflects. Stands totally behind his product--no worries. www.pduggan.com/Paul will hunt a piece for you.---be ready. Excellent service and also stands totally behind his product. If anything Paul is conservative in his grading. Good luck.
