A decent, brand new automatic Tissot or Victorinox chronograph can be had for about $500. Which one should I go for?

Both have great watches for the dollars, I guess that Victorinox is the bigger company so maybe that would help in the decision making.

i guess that in Europe tissot is the more famous of the 2 manufacturers for watches.. so my vote would be tissot.. but i guess it comes down to the individual styling of the watches.. tissot has made watches since 1850's and has some classic chronos in the past. Victorinex in europe is mainly known for penknives rather than their watches..

As a watchmaker I've worked on both, and would vote for the Tissot.

Thank you, mamas and avalon. It looks like Tissot's got the edge on heritage.
