Hi folks - Can anyone identify this watch, as worn by 'Fifth Gear' presenter Johnny Smith? Sorry, this is the best image I could get on my camera phone... If it's any help, the number '4' appears to be a white triangle..? Any help would be very much appreciated!

Welcome to WWF! Hmmmm....white triangle at the 4 o'clock marker. I can't think of what that might be.

I've done some digging, and thought it might be a U-Boat Classico A 925, but the crown on the U-Boats is normally on the left, as shown below. The face is very, very similar though - large digits with just 12, 4 and 8 notated. I think what i thought was originally a white triangle where the 4 should be is actually a large number 4, as in the U-Boat watch above. The other possibility was a Panerai, but these all have an enclosed crown. Still looking for possibilities, so has anyone got any ideas? Edit: OK, I'm as dumb as hell. He wears his watch on his RIGHT hand, so the crown IS on the left, ergo it IS the U-Boat..! Mystery solved! (retail around $3,750 if anyone's feeling flush!)

The U-Boats are not a range I'm too familiar with, but I really do like the look of the A 925. The fact that it's not made by one of the 'mainstream' watch manufacturers makes it even more appealing to me. I need to spunk up to a couple of grand (sterling) on a watch this time next year for my big four-oh, and this one is definitely on a growing list of possibilities. Has anyone here got any experience with U-Boats?
