I love the gilt print on the dial of this version. In pictures I did not like how the gilt print matched with the red but when I saw it in person I actually really liked it, just goes to show how seeing a watch in person can totally change your opinion sometimes.

Those are very cool. The one in the second row in the middle of that picture Chip posted is my favorite. Such german design, I do like the moon phase too because the function is so large. I hate watches with a moon phase that you can barely see

I'm not really a fan. I like the plastic ones oddly, I don't own one but have had hands on experience.

In the Phelps interview with Bob Costas tonight, I think Micheal was wearing a Speedmaster. I never got a solid look at the dial and at one point, I thought it might have been a PO Chrono as well. Did anyone see the interview and see the watch? Edit: I just got a better look at it and another news broadcast. Definitely looks like some sort of Speedmaster but one I've never seen before. I saw this, the black bezel and the pushers remind of the speedmaster but for some reason I can't say for sure. Hmm

That really is a great explanation of all the coating technologies out there. I'd love to see it take the next step and come up with some QC standardized tests that represent normal wear and tear (5000 abrasions a day with a shirt cuff; 500 desk dives at a certain pressure; 5 dings a day with a hard object (vehicle, overhead bin, door jam, etc), exposure to X amount of grit / body oil per days, and more), etc. to see how they hold up in similar environments. That would be a really cool read!
